Basketball Returns to the Lab: The LCCU Lambert and Paul Championship Classic 

The Laborie Multi-Purpose Court was buzzing with excitement yesterday as the inaugural LCCU Lambert and Paul Championship Classic Basketball Tournament tipped off. Sponsored by the Laborie Co-operative Credit Union Ltd., this four-team, league-style tournament is a tribute to Mr. Miguel Lambert and Matthew Paul, esteemed benefactors of the Laborie community.

This tournament brings together the best of local talent, with the Cavaliers, NAPA Giants, Flamboyants, and South Stars all vying for the championship title.

Round One Recap
The competition got off to an explosive start with the four teams playing three games each, in a round-robin format, to determine the seeding for the next round. The Cavaliers emerged as the team to beat, securing the top seed with a perfect 3-0 record.

The first round provided a glimpse of the fierce competition to come. Here’s a look at the results from yesterday’s games:

• Cavaliers vs. Flamboyants: 31-26
• NAPA Giants vs. South Stars: 30-15
• Cavaliers vs. NAPA Giants: 31-20
• Flamboyants vs. South Stars: 30-28
• South Stars vs. Cavaliers: 18-30
